Langdon Palmer became our pastor in 2014. He started his professional life as an Electrical Engineer, and worked for a decade in process control in the Philadelphia area. He always had a deep love for science, nature and philosophy – but faith came later. By the time he had reached college he was hovering somewhere between an agnostic and an atheist. In college, Christians shared the good news of the Gospel with him, and his world was turned upside down. He came to discover that “the deep story and deep beauty of this world are far greater than anything I ever could have imagined.” Langdon studied at Princeton Seminary for his Masters of Divinity, and at Drew University for his Doctorate of Ministry. His doctoral work was part of a global cohort focused on the future of the church. His interests include wilderness travel, power tools, music, art, working in his vineyard, science fiction, and all things pertaining to C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and G.K. Chesterton. He has two teenage children and is married to his wife Ruth who is a professor of Counseling Psychology at Eastern University.
Langdon loves both vintage and contemporary worship and serves Leverington with a contagious enthusiasm which is fueled by the conviction that the Gospel is the best news a person could ever hear.
