“90% of an iceberg lies beneath the surface.” The same could be said of life. The same could be said of life with Jesus. The problem for most of us is that we only seem to focus on the 10% of life that is above the surface, that which is visible and easy to access. We neglect what’s beneath the waves. Even worse, it’s what’s unseen that really shapes us, motivates us, drives us. And just like an iceberg, it’s the stuff below the surface that sinks us. Wounds from our family or origin, unacknowledged grief and pain, unhealthy patterns of conflict, the restlessness of modern life, and the shadow side of our personality all conspire to bring us down. Jesus doesn’t just want the 10% that is visible, he also wants to transform the 90% that goes unnoticed. Are we willing to confront what’s beneath the surface?

Transformation happens best in circles, not rows! Join a group and explore our Spring study on Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. We’ll follow along with the sermon series as we explore the 90% of our lives that often go unnoticed and unseen. We’ll discover how our families of origin still shape us today, how we live out familiar patterns of being and seeing the world, and how our emotional health is connected to our life with God.
